Panj Takht and Punjab Gurudwara tour with Sri Akal Takht Darshan

    Morning Pick up from Amritsar Airport. Transfer to selected hotel in Amritsar.It is suggested to Start the tour of the Golden Temple beginning at the “Ambrosial hour” (4 am) for the Asa-di-Var (morning service), Also participate in the Chaupai Sahib (evening service) and the Palki Sahib darshan. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is moved to the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib at around 10 PM and then moved back from there to Sri Harmandir Sahib at 5 AM. So Please plan your trip accordingly.

    After Golden temple, Visit Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Akal Takht Sahib literally means Eternal Throne. It is also part of the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. It's foundation was laid by Guru Hargobind Sahib . The Akal Takht is situated opposite to Harmandir Sahib and is connected by a passage. The Akal Takht in Harminder sahib is the oldest of the Five Takhts.

    After Akal takhat and Golden temple , Visit Jallianwala Bagh- which is just the walking distance from the Golden Temple. Jakianwala Bagh has a special importance attached to it with respect to India's freedom struggle On April 13, 1919 on the aucpicious day of Baisakhi hundreds of men,women and chidren sacrificed their lives in front of ruthless firing of the british forces.

    After lunch visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum- The summer place of Maharaja Ranjit Singh which is situated in the heart of Ram Bagh, Amritsar.

    In the Evening proceed to Wagah Border which is famous for its 'Retreat' ceremony at the time of sunset. During evening armed soldiers, both Indian as well as Pakistani, fully decked in their uniform enacts a particularly hostile parade marked by lowering of their respective flags and closing the border gates. The changing of the guards and the ceremonial lowering of the flags is carried out with great pomp and fervor.

  • Gurudwara Kandh Sahib ji, Dera Baba Nanak ji, Durgiyana temple Amritsar, Baba Atal Rai Tower Amritsar

    Morning drive for Batala and have Darshans at Gurudwara Kandh Sahib Ji, Guru Nanak was married here to Bibi Sulakhani. Mul Chand Chauna ( father of Bride) & Brahmin priests insisted on a traditional Hindu marriage while Guru Nanak wanted a simple marriage. Guru Nanak was sitting besides a crooked mud wall (kandh) discussing the marriage plans with the Brahmin clergy. It was planned to push the wall on top of the Guru but Guru Nanak was warned of the plan by an old woman. Guru Nanak just smiled and said "This wall will not fall for centuries. The will of God shall prevail." The wall is still preserved within the Gurdwara and a celebration is held here every year on the anniversary of Guru Nanak's marriage

    After Kandh Sahib ji Darshan, proceed to Dera Baba Nanak and have Darshans of Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Chola Sahib Gurudwaras in Dera Baba Nanak. Also view Gurudwara at Kartarpur Sahib, which is across the border in Pakistan, from Indian Border. Guru Nanak settled down in Dera Baba nanak with his family and many followers and started farming the land. Days would be spent in farming while mornings and evenings would be spent in prayer and singing the praises of God.

    Over centuries the river Ravi has shifted courses and the part of the farm where Guru Nanak passed away in 1539 is on the other side of the river in Pakistan known as Kartarpur Sahib, while Gurdwara Dera Baba Nanak is on the Indian side of the border where Guru Nanak used to meditate daily. In the Gurdwara is preserved a chola (robe) which Guru Nanak recieved as a gift while visiting Mecca. Thats why it is known as Chola Sahib.

    In the evening back to Amritsar and visit Durgiana temple, Baba Atal Rai Tower if time permits & spend evening at your leisure.

  • Early Morning drive for Bhatinda, enroute have darshans of gurudwaras Tarn Taran Sahib, Goindwal Sahib, Khadur Sahib

    Shri Tarn Taran Sahib (25 Kms from Amrisar) - is a Gurdwara established by the fifth guru, Guru Arjan Dev. It is situated in the city of Tarn Taran Sahib, It has the distinction of having the largest sarovar (Water pond) of all the gurudwaras. Also it is famous for the month gathering of pilgrims on day of Amavas (No moon night).

    Then proceed to Goindwal Sahib, visit Gurdwara Shri Baoli Sahib- This was the first centre of Sikhism and was established by Sri Guru Amar Das Ji. The deep well (bauli) in the Gurudwara has 84 steps. Whoever takes a bath here and recites Japji Sahib (divine composition of the first Prophet of the Sikhs, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji ) at each step, and repeats the recitation followed by bath in the Holy Well 84 times, attains moksh, because he lives out 84,000 cycles of birth representing each specie created by God.

    Then Visit Khadoor Sahib ji - Sri Khadur Sahib was the family home of second Guru Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji. The Guru settled here with his wife Mata Khivi and raised their three children here. A grand Gurudwara Khaddi Sahib, has been constructed here, in memory of Guru Amar Das.

  • Early Morning Proceed to Talwandi Sabo & have Darshans of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib

    Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) is situated in the village of Talwandi Sabo near Bhatinda. At this place Guru Gobind Singh stayed here for approximately a year and compiled the final edition of Guru Granth Sahib also known as the Damdama Sahib Bir in 1705.

    After darshan at Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib ji in the afternoon, proceed to Chandigarh. Reach Chandigarh by late Evening.

    After Anandpur Sahib ji, proceed for Vibhor Sahib ji Gurudwara which is located at about 15 kms in Nangal Dam. Vibhor Sahib Gurudwara is located on a hill overlooking the Nangal Dam. The view from the top is mesmerising. Tourists are advised to be careful of many monkeys which are quite notorious. Bhibhour Sahib Gurudwara is most Picturesque Gurudwara in Punjab. Bhabhour Sahib Gurudwara is overlooking the massive catchment area of Nangal Dam.
